Slow Flow Yoga for Alignment: A Gentle Return to Your Center
Slow Flow Yoga for Alignment is a nurturing path — a soft, breath-led journey to reconnect with your body, realign your posture, and soothe your nervous system. It is a gentle embrace that invites you to come home to yourself.
My Journey to Slow Flow
I began practicing yoga in 2010. In the beginning, I was drawn to intense styles like Ashtanga. As a former professional athlete, I thought yoga was meant to feel like effort. I pushed through the pain, watched the clock, and ignored the whispers of discomfort in my joints and breath.
But over time, I began to listen more deeply.
My body wasn’t asking for more effort — it was asking for more awareness.
That’s when I discovered slow flow yoga for alignment.
What Shifted in My Practice
Carrying old injuries, inflammation, and deep-rooted tension from years of athletic training, I often felt more depleted after fast-paced movement.
To support healing, I immersed myself in the Alexander Technique — a profound study in postural reprogramming. It taught me to move with attention, rather than force. I began to unwind patterns of holding and strain.
Later, I trained with Anand Mehrotra, a Himalayan master and founder of Sattva Yoga Academy. His teachings reawakened me to the power of breath, presence, and organic movement. With him, I learned that slowness is sacred — and that alignment is not only physical, but energetic.
This was the true beginning of my path.
Why Slow Flow Yoga for Alignment Heals
This practice is an invitation to pause and feel.
You move with grace.
You breathe with intention.
You give the body space to remember its own intelligence.
Rather than rush, you listen.
Rather than push, you receive.
Slow Flow Yoga for Alignment supports your nervous system, nourishes your joints, and reconnects you to your center— where clarity, peace, and strength reside.
How I Practice Slow Flow
Even 15–20 minutes can soften my breath, ground my energy, and clear stagnation. When time allows, a 60–90 minute flow becomes a devotional ritual — guided by how my body feels in the moment.
It’s not about perfection.
It’s about presence.
This practice isn’t here to fix you.
It’s here to bring you back to yourself.
A Practice That Welcomes You As You Are
You don’t need to be flexible.
You don’t need to be perfect.
You simply need to arrive.
Breathe.
Move with care.
Let your body be honored, just as it is.
Slow Flow Yoga for Alignment offers what we all need:
Space.
Attention.
Grace.
This is how I come home to myself — again and again.
To those feeling the call to deepen this path, I humbly bow to my teacher, Anand Mehrotra of the Himalayan tradition, whose presence and teachings continue to illuminate my way.
